"Virginia, Sylvia, Sarah- Beautiful as a statistic" The nurses give back my clothes, and an identity. Three artists, whose lives had hardly any points of contact, seem almost inseparable seen through the eye of statistics. Here they fall under several collective terms: female writers, depressive artists, famous suicides. Three biographies and their submission to statistics as an expression of our countable and counted world: A clash between subjective voices and objective measurements. The choreography plays with the counterpoints of individual expression versus superior pattern, but examines also how the transition between these oppositions becomes sometimes rather flowing. The piece describes the dissolution of identity, the fragmentation of a person from completeness into smaller parts of personality and finally into mere character fragments. Each of the three figures appears in doubled form: always two performers share the same “skin” from which they disintegrate more and more. This progression from control and unity towards chaos and fragmentation is applied to all the artistic components: movement, language, lighting, sound and stage design.
